Already twice funded student startup in the care sector

Siblings Valtteri and Eveliina Tanninen developed a service application aimed at facilitating the care of the elderly and the daily lives of their relatives. The application is not just a new service portal, but a platform that manages the entire process from identifying the need for a service to its implementation. Case Hoitava Solutions Oy – an example of a student-led company that has already received funding twice

Hoitava Solutions Oy originated from a very concrete situation that is familiar to many Finns. Grandparents began to need help with their daily routines, and assistance was sought from the municipality. The response was a thick stack of physical documents listing various service providers – a list that did not really make everyday life any easier but rather added to the confusion. The whole thing felt heavy and unclear.

As a solution, siblings Valtteri and Eveliina Tanninen developed a service application aimed at facilitating the care of the elderly and the daily lives of their relatives. The application is not just a new service portal, but a platform that manages the entire process from identifying the need for a service to its implementation. It also aims to address the imbalance in the welfare sector, where, for example, specialist expertise is used inefficiently or in the wrong place. The platform allows the right resources to be better targeted. To develop the application, Valtteri, Eveliina, and two other partners founded Hoitava Solutions Oy in the summer of 2025. The company is purely a programming company that solves the problem at hand.

The application is currently in the development phase. The brand colors and logo are already in place, and the goal is to release the actual MVP of the mobile application during the spring. There are currently no competitors offering a similar comprehensive solution, which reinforces the timeliness and need for the solution.

All funding criteria are met

Valtteri studies business at LAB University of Applied Sciences, the idea has novelty value and commercialization potential, and the company has a multidisciplinary team of four people. This made the company eligible for student funding. The €750 grant from the first round was used to interview care companies and map the market. The interviews and summaries confirmed the business idea and helped clarify the target group. The financial support significantly accelerated the market research process – the entrepreneurs note that even small amounts are significant in the early stages of developing a business idea.

"Students should take advantage of existing resources"

Hoitava Solutions Oy wants to send an encouraging message to other students and budding entrepreneurs: if you have a clear plan and know what you want, you should take advantage of the resources available. Business Mill's services and financing are particularly suitable for those who have an idea but need sparring and concrete steps to move forward.
